Simple.  Make a spare float parameter on a point SOP called 'lookup", set keyframes at frame 0 and 100 with values of 0 and 1 respectively.  Pick a curve in between (or put in more keyframes).  Then in the point SOP's tx/ty/tz, put:
  
  point("../source_curve", chf("lookup", fit($PT, 0, $NPT-1, 0, 100))*$NPT, "P", 0)

.. and "P",1) and "P", 2) correspondingly for ty and tz. Probably works best on a decently resampled source curve.
