[Sidefx-houdini-list] perpective from camera uv to distance

I'm just guessing...
But is uv equivalent to the distance to the plane the camea is on,
as opposed to the distance to the point the camera is at?
Calculating the distance to a point is pretty quick in vex.. I'd be
doing it like that.
