The benefit to this method is that you can maintain your environment
settings in a file, and version it beside your hip file. One of the things
that many people miss when versioning things is that your environment
variable settings can affect how things work. R+H, for the longest time,
didn't track changes in the environment -- all of that stuff was implemented
in code, with no way of tying a particular version of a hip file to a particular
set of scripts that were used to set up the environment. This is one of
the things that Temerity got right.
