Unfortunately, everyone works in their own way and in a production
environment, you need consistency. If you don't, chaos is bound to happen
when assets move downstream or need revision (by someone else). A good
pipeline helps guide the artist, give them clear direction, provide clear
information and ensures that their work will play nicely with other
departments. The pipeline shouldn't handcuff the artist but empower them ...
they don't have to think about naming schemes and directory structure ...
just concentrate on "making pretty pictures." :)  In the end, this makes the
artist more efficient which leads to fewer hours.
