hmm,  for now I've wrapped my own evalRamp() which uses standard hou
methods... not sure if this is a way to go, it works, but it smell
hackery. Neither ifd light wrangler nor soho module mention ramps
evaluation. Doc strings say: floats, bools, ints, shaders, bounds, no
ramps around.
