Yup 'hython' works from a houdini command line.

It seems that the problem may be that we run python 2.4 internally ( for
compatibility with some other scripts that we use ) and that houdini
uses 2.5 - this may account for the error.

Would this make sense 'pythonistically' speaking ?

Can you simply run "hython" from the command line? It seems to be
designed for exactly what you're trying to achieve... a python based
hscript kind of thing.
