[Sidefx-houdini-list] Problems with Merge's performances

I don't see any reason why this would be the case.
I had a look at your scene and checked the performance monitor output. 
There is definitely a difference in what is being
cooked depending on the order of the merge inputs.

Particle system as first input

There's obviously more cooking going on with the Particle system as 
first input which seems to relate to the construction of your
sphere geometry. Looks like Houdini is doing some behind the scenes 
caching. Interesting point to be aware of
