Success in creating a good, innovative, useful product rarely comes from simply
following the advice of your customer.

a good quote from a successful innovator:
"What the customer demands is last year's model, cheaper. To find out what the
customer needs you have to understand what the customer is doing as well as he
understands it. Then you build what he needs and you educate him to the fact
that he needs it."

Many companies have gone under by delivering exactly what their customers were
requesting instead of what they actually needed; read "the innovators dilemma"
for a bit more about this.

Yes, RFE's are a fantastic idea to listen to, but they should never be relied on
to be a roadmap for future development. SESI is a very small company trying to
deliver useful tools to an underfunded industry with their skeleton staff. They
produce an awesome amount of tools given their constraints, I would hate to see
that hampered by them constantly chasing RFE's. RFE's really should be a source
of fresh ideas, not just a list of demands from customers.
