Houdini 9's New Backend: A Python Interface to Rendering

When Houdini starts a render, it sends a scene description to the
renderer. In Houdini 9, this is done through a new Python back-end. Mark
Elendt will present an overview of the new Python API and discuss some
of the features of the new interface. Most of the presentation will be
looking at code and API diagrams; there will be very few pretty
pictures. This class is for those with an understanding of a programming
language (preferably some Python experience), an understanding of a
renderer interface (ie. RIB, .mi, OpenGL) and a basic understanding of
how Houdini objects work.
