Hi,

I don't use Ubuntu but I was under the impression that it was Debain based
so I would think that you should have apt-get?

I found these 2 sites:

http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/debian-linux-help/35819-ubuntu-apt-get-help
.html

http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu_Edgy#How_to_apt-get_the_easy_way_.28Synap

Cheers!
