Have you tried using the "group" option of the add sop?

Using the group sop IS simpler than using the curve function... but is
there a way to get the "pattern" from the group sop into the add sop
without a manual cut and paste?
It's crazy, but this is what I've been doing... cutting and pasting the
pattern from the curve sop into an add sop, then adding the attribute
transfer. Using the group sop has fewer steps... I don't need the
attribute transfer, and I don't have to remove all the p's in front of
every point number in the curve sop pattern when pasting into the add
